The controls

Three to five minutes to learn. Thirty in the air.

The flight controller holds altitude and position. You point it where you want to go. It lifts off a ten-metre pad in still air, which a paramotor cannot do, and needs no hangar, which a helicopter does.

The invoice

What a real order costs.

The list price is the aircraft. Most buyers add the parachute system, a second battery set and a spare propeller set. Freight, import duty and VAT come on top.

Payment is 50% to start production and 50% before it ships. Production takes 60 to 90 days. The manufacturer's prices are valid a month at a time, so the number you get from me is the number on their list that month.

Every order gets a written duty estimate from a licensed broker before you pay a deposit. Aircraft under HS 8802 20 are not classified like consumer drones, so budget it, do not guess it.

The dealer

Delivered and taught by a test pilot.

I am Javi Tejeiro. I have test-flown wings and motors for AirG, Scout and MT since 2012, flown a hundred shows in fifty countries, and I teach every week at Skymasters in Doha. I assemble your aircraft, fly it before you touch it, and teach you to fly it.

My company FlyOppi, in Cómpeta, Málaga, is YIVTOL's dealer for Spain, Portugal and Morocco. The first S-ZERO Plus for Spain is on order as the demo aircraft. Demo flights open the week it passes its shakedown flight, and the people on the list below hear first.

The rules

Where you can fly it, honestly.

In Spain, Portugal and Morocco this is operated on private or club land with the landowner's permission, away from controlled airspace, under 120 metres, in daylight, with an observer. That is how my shows have run for fifteen years and it is how I set up your first field with you.

Formal classification with AESA in Spain, ANAC in Portugal and the DGAC in Morocco is being worked through with the manufacturer. I tell you exactly what is and is not approved on the day you order, in writing, and I do not sell to anyone who plans to fly it over a town.

YIVTOL's flagship store in Shenzhen sells five-minute flights. Their overseas model, on their own conservative numbers, is below. They are the manufacturer's illustrative figures, not mine, and the eleven-page white paper says so on every page.

Before you ask.

Do I need a pilot's licence?

In China, no, and YIVTOL says so in its marketing. In Spain, Portugal and Morocco the answer depends on the classification we land on, which is not settled yet. Plan on a short ultralight-style course with me either way; it is two days and it makes you a safer pilot whatever the paperwork says.

How long does it really fly?

About 30 minutes on the S-ZERO with a normal adult, less if you fly hard in sport mode, about 50 on the MAX. A second battery set swaps in two minutes, which is how a flying day works in practice. Charger times for your configuration come with the quote.

What about wind and rain?

Tested to 6 m/s wind. That is a moderate breeze, about 20 km/h. No rain, no flying at night for now. Operating temperature 5 to 40 °C.

How loud is it?

Eight electric motors. Loud enough that you wear the helmet, quiet enough that YIVTOL flies it in city parks in China. I will let you stand next to the demo unit and decide.

Spares, service and warranty?

Propellers, batteries and chargers are on the price list and I keep a set in Málaga. Motors and electronics come from the factory. Warranty terms come in writing with each order. Anything I can fix, I fix; anything I cannot goes back under warranty and I handle the shipping.

Can I see one before I pay?

Yes. That is what the demo aircraft is for. Book a slot below and I will put you in the seat, on the ground first, then in a hover with me on the radio. If you want to see the factory and the Shenzhen experience store before ordering, that can be arranged too.

Delivery to Portugal or Morocco?

Yes. Freight goes to Lisbon or Casablanca instead of Málaga, and duty is calculated for that country. Training happens at your field.
